Turkey’s Advancement in Tourism Technologies and the Role of Artificial Intelligence (GM Magazine – 09.04.2025)

The "Antalya Tourism and Sustainability" panel organized by the Antalya City Council as part of the "Antalya in the 21st Century Workshops" was held on April 9 at the Antalya Archaeology Museum. With the participation of tourism professionals, academics and public representatives, the panel discussed important issues such as the relationship between tourism and the environment, sustainable tourism goals, the need for transformation of the sector, the future of tourism, competitor analysis and the danger of overtourism.

Turkey's Progress in Tourism Technologies and the Role of Artificial Intelligence

Kemal Oral stated that they provide services to nearly 6000 hotels and that Turkey is far ahead in tourism technologies. Hosting 60 million tourists, he emphasized that artificial intelligence is essential for Turkey to ensure minimum consumption and to save money. Talking about their new project, Kemal Oral explained that they have created a system where tourists save money with in-hotel incentives using artificial intelligence. Oral stated that they aim to reduce carbon footprint and consumption by rewarding tourists who save money. In the session, which drew attention to the inevitable importance of artificial intelligence and digitalization in tourism, the necessity of touristic facilities and businesses to show the necessary importance to digitalization was emphasized.
