Within the accommodation sector, the share of online reservations is quite low compared to other countries. In Turkey, the percentage of reservations coming through online channels is around 15% in city hotels, while this rate drops to about 3% in resort hotels. Looking globally, this rate is around 90% in America and around 80% in Europe. We estimate that the market in Turkey will reach similar levels within the next 5 years. As Talya Bilişim, we produce hotel software known as Elektra, used by accommodation facilities such as hotels and resorts, as well as businesses like restaurants and cafes. Our hotel software consists of 22 different modules covering management of all departments of a hotel, from front office to accounting, stock and asset management, to marketing and sales tracking. The Elektra Online Reservation System is connected to Elektra used at the front office; it obtains price and availability information from the hotel at the time of booking and records the reservation in the same program. Unlike other reservation systems, you don’t need to constantly update prices and availability or re-enter reservations into the hotel program. Elektra V4 is widely preferred due to the different solutions it offers for both city hotels and resorts. More than 2300 hotels actively use it; among our users are many large establishments like Peninsula, Ramada (Antalya, Malatya, İzmit, Tekirdağ), Noa Group, Hillside Hotels, Aqua Fantasy, Klassiler, Orduevleri, Vilayetevleri, Hakimevleri. Last year, we worked on a successful project with Gezi Sitesi. The new site of gezisitesi.com, owned by Doğan Holding, uses Elektra Online Reservation System infrastructure.
We launched the Online Reservation System
Our product that has recently attracted much interest, the online reservation system, aims to open all our hotels to the world via the internet. The Online Reservation System and Internet Sales Channel Connection Software are among the projects we started for this purpose. It was supported by TÜBİTAK and launched recently. With this system, potential guests visiting the hotel’s website can become immediate confirmed sales. At the same time, the workflow in the reservation process is reduced, saving time. The Online Reservation System, with its multi-language and multi-currency options, helps the hotel reach all markets. Also, through the online reservation system, by connecting to agency sales systems like Amadeus and Galileo, the hotel can automatically receive reservations from the global GDS network. It is also possible to publish the hotel on international websites such as expedia.com, booking.com, hotel.de, and receive online reservations from these sites similarly. Guests can see daily prices and availability for each date while making a reservation. The online reservation system continues to accept reservations even during the hotel’s closed periods. The system is also adapted for mobile devices. For the Online Reservation System, we only charge a monthly usage fee from businesses. No commission is charged per reservation or per room.
