Two companies operating within Akdeniz University Antalya Teknokent were among the 17 firms awarded support under the 1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call. The project owners who qualified for support under TÜBİTAK Technology and Innovation Support Programs Presidency (TEYDEB) Innovation Support Program 1711 – Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call – 2023 were announced. The TÜBİTAK Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call 2023 Contract Signing Ceremony took place at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK), attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır. Also present at the ceremony were TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, Antalya Teknokent General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz, and participants whose projects were approved for support.
TWO COMPANIES FROM ANTALYA TEKNOKENT
Among the companies from Antalya Teknokent, where Akdeniz University is a joint founder, ERS Yazılım İnternet Turizm Sanayi Ticaret Anonim Şirketi’s project titled “Artificial Intelligence Supported Sustainable Transportation Ecosystem for the Tourism Sector” and Talya Bilişim Ticaret ve Sanayi Anonim Şirketi’s project titled “Artificial Intelligence-Based Carbon Footprint Source Tracking, Anomaly Detection and Prevention Recommendation Platform (TURCAMAP) for the Hotel Accommodation Ecosystem” were awarded support.
At the TÜBİTAK Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call 2023 Contract Signing Ceremony, project contracts for Akdeniz University Antalya Teknokent companies were signed by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, and Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan.
WORKS IN THE FIELD OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, noting that many successful companies operate under Antalya Teknokent, said, “As Akdeniz University, we are happy to reap the fruits of our research, development, and technology-centered efforts. It increased our pride that Talya Bilişim and ERS Yazılım companies, operating within Antalya Teknokent in the tourism and hotel accommodation sectors, received support among major technology giants. I congratulate our executive and advisory professors as well as our project partner companies.”
Stressing the need for more innovative, AI-supported work to secure a strong position in the future world, Rector Özkan added, “In this sense, TÜBİTAK’s support is very valuable. As a university, our efforts to develop artificial intelligence technologies and expand their application areas will continue.”
